How I Deal With Internet Skirmishes!
I recognize that my platform is but a small one, but in the smallness thereof, I’d rather move toward integrity and purity than gain the whole world and lose my soul in the process.
Is It Pastoral or Not?
Everything for me boils down to, “Is it pastoral or not?” Of course, the pastoral landscape today has made that question rather difficult. Some pastors don’t pastor, and the pastors who played pastor have fallen by the wayside. And some have taken the unfortunate role of dressing as wolves at the Halloween Party, but the worst of it is that folks complimented their attire, observing that it matched their skin tone.
But I do intend to go back to the “Is it pastoral?” paradigm, because I think it covers a multitude of sins. It’s how I judge internet skirmishes. It’s why I stay out of so many. It’s why I refuse to engage the vast majority of the players.
If I were to earn some crypto every time some anonymous accounts have urged me to go back to my country, I would have at least 1/15th of a Bitcoin. For non-Bitcoiners, that’s still a lot. Don’t be deceived by the equation. Further, I also have a significant fan club eagerly assessing every point I make as another example of the failure of the blessed CREC. They wish to rehash 20-year-old debates, hoping —just hoping —that eyeballs will find them appealing, and then they can regurgitate old brouhahas about justification by works and works by justification. Well, I believe in a faith that works, darnit! If it was enough for Paul, it’s enough for me.
