How to Run at the Airport and Everything Else
In this potpourri of news, I offer a summary of my projects and update you on a host of comings and goings.
I have never run 0.6 miles in six minutes with dress shoes and two carry-ons amid human traffic that was organized to prevent me from getting to my gate. I wish I could tell you I arrived victorious, perspiring like a conquering warrior, but the gate had been shut harder than a Noahic door. The angels at the gate looked upon me with pity but they were bearers of bad news.
I now sit with my cup of black coffee and heavy cream, waiting in this crazed and overcrowded center for departure in Charlotte. But I always try to be prepared to use my time wisely. The work that awaited me tomorrow will now be consumed in a less-than-ideal place. Still, there is no better place than the one you are in to get’r done with gusto. Besides, the story is always more appealing in a foreign place.
