Wilson/Mohler: Opening Thoughts on the Harmony of Two Great Minds
The evangelical world is coming together under particular premises. As Wilson notes, you can't hang a flag in your heart. Flags are hung in the public square.
There was excitement in the air. NatCon Day 2 had one central event in my mind: the meeting between Douglas Wilson and Al Mohler. Everything else was secondary. The senatorial discussion that began the day was good, and I appreciated much of what the panel discussed. The reshaping of the Senate is an important part of our republic, and I pray that the new administration affords Republicans time and a majority to change the chaotic structures. But that conversation paled in comparison to the meeting of two admirable minds.
The entire thing was a monumental moment. I know Dr. Hazony as a man who deeply desires to see the Protestant world united under conservative ideals. As a Jewish man, he affirms that only a Protestant America can restore proper order to society.
@yhazony introduced Wilson and Mohler as "two of the great Protestant leaders of our generation." I cannot agree more with his assessment. On the one hand, we have someone who has deeply shaped the great conservative Baptist renewal of the early 80s, and on the other, someone who has provided the institutional backbone to answer the onslaught of secularism in the last 30 years.
