Raising CREC in Arizona--New Beginnings!
The CREC in Arizona is doing quite well, thank you very much!
Thanks to all who read The Perspectivalist. It appears that my numbers continue to increase. I am now the 41st most-read Author on Substack in the Religion and Spirituality category!
I went to ReformCon and doubled my networking quota. It was a pleasure to see so many people, including the TPUSA guys whom I had met in Georgia for the Charlie Kirk/Matt Walsh event in March—cheers to Asa and Seth. I hope our paths meet again at an event. However, the primary reason for making the journey to Arizona was to visit our new churches on their path towards membership in the CREC. One of the blessed things about traveling all over the country is that I get to see different flavors of current or future CREC bodies in action. My favorite way to express what I see in these congregations is that there is a translatability that occurs in the CREC that is uncommon in other traditions.
I have seen the CREC played out in various countries in the world, and I have seen our Covenant Renewal worship thrive in these environments. There is a familiar rhythm in Tokyo and Lafayette, Pensacola and the Island of Jersey. This is one of the most appealing aspects of a denomination that thinks rightly about worship and models her practices according to the totality of Scriptures.
If I am not mistaken, my tour around America made Arizona the 39th state I have visited. And it didn’t disappoint. The diverse mountain ranges offer a sharp contrast with their desert landscapes. The wild selection of cacti was stunning. There is a cactus that can kill you and a cactus that can thrill you. Either way, they are to be admired and not caressed. But they are everywhere.
